Professor Andy Schofield
Research
I work on the theory of correlated quantum systems. When the interactions between quantum particles, such as like electrons, grow too strong to be ignored they often show new emergent properties. This can be fostered by tuning materials to quantum critical points where phenomena such as novel superconductivity and non-Fermi liquid properties and dark order can emerge. More details »
Teaching
I teach courses at all levels, beginning with special relativity in the first year through to advanced quantum mechanics in the final year. I also teach a course on correlated quantum matter for the Midlands Physics Graduate School. More details »
