Research Interests

The quantum properties of matter such as:
- High Tc superconductivity
- Non Fermi-liquids
- Correlated oxides
- Quantum critical points
- Thermoelectric response
- Quantum Dissipation

Teaching Responsibilities

I teach the following courses at the University of Birmingham:
- Quantum Mechanics 4: Level 4, first semester (since 2008)
- Special Relativity 1: Level 1, first semester (half module) (since 2005)
- Probability and Random Processes: Level 1 first semester (half module) (since 2005).
- An introduction to correlated systems: Graduate course (2006-7).
- Quantum Mechanics 3: Level 3, first semester (2003-2008).
- Gauge Theories in Physics: part of Current Topics in Theoretical Physics Level 3, second semester (since 2001).
- Level 4 projects: (since 2000). The tutorial session given on 10th Nov 2004 is here.
- General Physics team: Level 3, second semester (2000-2005).
- Quantum field theory and many-particle physics: Level 4, second semester (1999-2003).
